Darkseid's Furies

Darkseid's deadliest daughters enforce the will of the New God.

Often referred to by fans as Darkseid's Furies, this elite group of warriors is canonically known as the Female Furies. They serve as the personal enforcers and bodyguards for Darkseid, the tyrannical ruler of Apokolips. While primarily associated with the Justice League due to their cosmic threat level, they occasionally intersect with Batman during universe-spanning events involving New Gods or the Omega Sanction.

Lore & Background

Their loyalty is absolute, forged through indoctrination and fear of the Omega Beams. Over decades of storytelling, several members have defected or sought redemption, most notably Big Barda, who became a key ally to Earth's heroes while maintaining her combat prowess against former comrades.

In Their Own Story

The rain in Gotham was always cold, but this night felt like ice from another world. Batman stood atop the gargoyle, watching the shadow detach itself from the alleyway below. It wasn't human; the silhouette radiated heat and malice. A woman stepped forward, her armor gleaming with the red hue of Apokolips. She didn't speak, only raised a gauntlet that hummed with cosmic energy. The Dark Knight knew this signature instantly—the Furies had arrived to collect a debt owed by the universe itself.

Reader's Guide

Their goals align entirely with Darkseid's desire for universal domination and control over free will. They operate as a specialized strike force, often deployed when stealth or overwhelming brutality is required.

Membership dynamics are strictly hierarchical based on combat proficiency and loyalty to Darkseid. Rivalries exist within the group, but they unite instantly against external threats. Defection is rare but usually results in permanent exile from Apokolips.

Conflict with Batman typically occurs during major crossover events where Apokolips invades Earth. While Superman often takes the lead against them due to their cosmic nature, Batman utilizes strategy and technology to counter their physical advantages when they target Gotham.
